Office Fantasy 11 min read 2876 words

“Another late one, Maya?” Ben’s voice cut through the quiet hum of the deserted office. I jumped, nearly dropping the stack of printouts I was carrying. It was past seven, and I’d thought I was alone. My heart hammered a ridiculous rhythm against my ribs.

“Just tying up those Q3 reports, Ben. Almost done.” I tried to sound breezy, but the tremor in my hand betrayed me. He was leaning against the doorframe of his office, tie loosened, sleeves rolled up to reveal forearms dusted with dark hair. He looked less like the intimidating VP and more like someone who’d just finished a long day of manual labor. It was a look I rarely saw, and it did things to me I preferred not to acknowledge.

He pushed off the frame, walking towards me. His footsteps were soft on the industrial carpet. “You always say ‘almost done,’ and then I find you here at nine, still wrestling with spreadsheets.” He stopped a comfortable distance away, but I felt the warmth radiating off him. He smelled faintly of coffee and something else, something sharp and clean, like expensive soap.

“Someone’s got to make sure the numbers add up,” I retorted, trying to keep my voice steady. My eyes flicked to his. They were a deep, unsettling blue, and they always seemed to see right through my carefully constructed composure. “Besides, you’re here too.”

He chuckled, a low, rumbling sound that seemed to vibrate through the floor. “Touché. Just emailing some last-minute directives for the London team. They’re eight hours ahead, you know.” He gestured vaguely back towards his office. “Want to grab a drink? My treat. To celebrate surviving another quarter.”

The invitation hung in the air, unexpected. We’d worked late together plenty of times, but a drink, just us? That was new territory. My mind immediately conjured images of dimly lit bars, clinking glasses, and the kind of conversation that wasn’t about profit margins or market share. “I should probably get home,” I said, but the words felt weak, like a question rather than a statement.

“One drink, Maya. It’s not going to kill you. Or me. And frankly, I could use a break from this place.” He gestured around the empty office, a slight curve to his lips. He was good at this, at making suggestions sound like perfectly reasonable, almost necessary, propositions. And I, apparently, was terrible at saying no to him.

“Alright,” I found myself saying. “One drink. But I’m not talking about Q3 reports.”

“Deal,” he said, a genuine smile spreading across his face. And just like that, the invisible line between boss and employee seemed to stretch, thin, and almost break.

The bar was a cozy, dimly lit place a few blocks from the office. It was the kind of spot where you could actually hear yourself think, even on a Friday night. We settled into a booth, and he ordered two whiskeys, neat. I usually drank wine, but tonight, whiskey felt… appropriate. A little dangerous, a little bold.

We talked about everything but work. His weekend plans to fix a leaky faucet, my sister’s upcoming wedding, a ridiculous movie we’d both seen last week. He had a dry wit I rarely saw at the office, and I found myself laughing more freely than I had in weeks. It was easy, comfortable, and utterly disarming. The whiskey warmed me from the inside out, loosening the knots of tension I hadn’t even realized I was carrying.

“You know,” he said, swirling the amber liquid in his glass, “you’re good at this, Maya. Really good. Organized, sharp, you catch things no one else does.” His eyes met mine across the table, and the compliment felt heavy, genuine. Not just a performance review platitude.

My cheeks flushed. “Thanks, Ben. I try.” I felt a strange heat bloom in my stomach, a mixture of pride and something else, something I couldn’t quite name. “You’re not so bad yourself. For a ruthless corporate executive, anyway.” I teased, and he laughed again, that low, rich sound.

“I’ll take that as a compliment,” he said. He leaned forward slightly, his voice dropping a notch. “But seriously, Maya. I value your work. More than you know.”

His words hung in the air, thick with an unspoken implication. The whiskey had blurred the edges of my professional boundaries, and I found myself staring at his mouth, at the way his lips curved when he spoke. I wanted to lean across the table, to bridge the small gap between us. It was a crazy, reckless thought, one I quickly tried to shove back down.

“I should probably head home,” I said again, the words tasting like ashes in my mouth. It was getting late, and the comfortable intimacy of the conversation was starting to feel… dangerous. I could feel the pull, the undeniable attraction that had been simmering beneath the surface for months, threatening to boil over.

He nodded slowly, a hint of disappointment in his eyes. “Right. Of course.” He paid the bill, and we stepped out into the cool night air. The city was still alive around us, but our conversation had created a bubble of privacy. We walked in silence for a few blocks, the occasional brush of our arms sending shivers through me.

At my doorstep, I fumbled with my keys. “Thanks for the drink, Ben. I… I really enjoyed it.”

He reached out, his hand gently covering mine on the doorknob. His touch was warm, firm. “Me too, Maya. More than I thought I would.” His thumb stroked the back of my hand, a small, electric gesture that sent a jolt straight through me. My breath hitched. He was so close I could feel the warmth of his body, could see the tiny flecks of gold in his blue eyes.

“Goodnight, Ben,” I whispered, my voice barely a thread. I pulled my hand away, a sudden surge of self-preservation kicking in. This was too much, too fast. This was a line we couldn’t cross.

He dropped his hand, a flicker of something unreadable in his expression. “Goodnight, Maya.” He watched me until I was safely inside, the click of the lock feeling like a definitive barrier between us.

The next few weeks at the office were a strange dance. We maintained a veneer of professionalism, but beneath it, the air between us crackled. His emails to me were slightly less formal, his glances in meetings a little longer. I found myself lingering at my desk, hoping he would walk by, hoping for another one of those casual, loaded conversations. The memory of his touch, the warmth of his hand on mine, replayed in my mind on an endless loop.

One Tuesday, a critical project deadline loomed. The entire team was working late, the fluorescent lights humming a dull lullaby. Around nine, everyone else started to trickle out, leaving just Ben and me. He was in his office, door ajar, staring at his computer screen. I was at my desk, sifting through data, trying to make sense of a confusing spreadsheet.

“Stuck?” he asked, appearing suddenly beside my desk. I jumped again. He had a way of moving silently.

“A little,” I admitted, rubbing my temples. “This data set is a mess. I can’t reconcile these numbers.”

He leaned over my shoulder, his arm brushing mine as he pointed at the screen. “See here? This column needs to be cross-referenced with the Q2 projections. Someone imported it wrong.” His voice was low, close to my ear, and I could feel the heat of his body radiating against my back. My skin prickled. I could smell that clean, sharp scent again, mixed with something subtly masculine that made my stomach clench.

“Oh, I see,” I managed, my voice a little breathless. His fingers hovered over the mouse, and I found myself mesmerized by the proximity of his hand to mine. Just inches. I wanted to reach out, to feel his skin against mine again.

He straightened up, creating a small distance, and the sudden coolness was almost a physical ache. “It’s a simple fix. Just a few adjustments, and it should all balance out.” He paused, looking down at me. “You’re tired, Maya. You’ve been at this all day.”

“So have you,” I countered, looking up at him. His blue eyes seemed darker in the dim office light. We were alone. Really alone. The quiet was almost suffocating.

“True.” He leaned back against the edge of my desk, crossing his arms. The posture was casual, but the intensity in his eyes was anything but. “Tell me, Maya. What do you do to unwind after a day like this?”

The question was innocuous, but the way he asked it, the way he looked at me, made it feel loaded. My mind went blank. “I… I usually just go home. Read. Watch something.” It sounded incredibly dull, even to me.

He nodded slowly, a small smile playing on his lips. “Right. Of course. No wild parties, then.”

“Not really my scene,” I admitted, a small smile touching my own lips. The tension in the air was palpable, a live thing between us. It was thrilling and terrifying all at once. I could feel my pulse quicken, a frantic flutter in my chest.

He pushed off the desk, taking a step closer. My eyes followed him, mesmerized. “What if,” he said, his voice dropping to a near whisper, “we just stayed here? For a little while longer. And talked. No work. Just… us.”

The unspoken invitation hung in the air, thick and heavy. My breath caught in my throat. This was it. The line. Right here. My body was humming, alive with a nervous energy. Every instinct screamed danger, but a deeper, more primitive part of me screamed yes. This was what I’d been craving, what I’d been denying.

“What would we talk about?” I asked, my voice almost too quiet to hear. It was a foolish question. We both knew it wasn’t just about talking.

He took another step, closing the distance completely. He reached out, his fingers gently brushing a stray strand of hair from my face, tucking it behind my ear. His touch was feather-light, but it sent shivers down my spine. “Anything,” he murmured, his gaze locked on mine. “Everything. Or nothing at all.”

Then he leaned in, slowly, giving me every opportunity to pull away. But I didn’t. I couldn’t. My eyes fluttered shut as his lips met mine. It was soft at first, a tentative brush, a question. Then, as I responded, as my hand came up to cup his jaw, it deepened. His mouth was warm and firm, tasting faintly of coffee and something uniquely him. He kissed me with a hunger that matched my own, a hunger that had been building between us for months, unspoken, simmering beneath the surface of professional politeness.

My fingers tangled in his hair, pulling him closer. He groaned, a deep, satisfied sound, and his arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me off my chair and against him. I was pressed flush against his body, feeling the hard planes of his chest, the warmth of his skin through his shirt. His erection was undeniable, a hard ridge against my stomach, and a wave of heat washed over me, thrilling and terrifying.

“Maya,” he breathed against my lips, pulling back just enough to look at me, his eyes dark with desire. “Are you sure about this?”

“Yes,” I whispered, my voice thick with emotion. There was no turning back now. The dam had broken. The professional world had dissolved, leaving only us, two people starved for each other.

He kissed me again, harder this time, more possessive. His hands slid down my back, pulling me even tighter against him, molding my body to his. I felt a sharp ache spread through my core, a yearning that demanded to be satisfied. I fumbled with the buttons of his shirt, my fingers clumsy with urgency, desperate to feel his skin against mine. He helped me, shrugging out of it, revealing a taut, muscled chest dusted with dark hair. I pressed my face against it, inhaling his scent, feeling the strong beat of his heart against my ear.

Then it was my turn. He pulled back, his eyes devouring me. Slowly, deliberately, he unbuttoned my blouse, his fingers brushing against my skin, sending sparks. I shivered, my nipples hardening beneath my bra. He peeled it open, then unhooked my bra, letting it fall to the floor. My breasts, full and heavy, spilled out, and I felt a blush creep up my neck. But his gaze wasn't judgmental; it was hungry. He lowered his head, his tongue tracing the curve of one breast, then suckling, gently at first, then with more intensity. A gasp escaped my lips, and I arched my back, pressing myself against his mouth.

His hand found the zipper of my skirt, pulling it down with a smooth motion. It pooled around my ankles, and I stepped out of it, kicking it away. I was left in just my lace thong, feeling exposed and exhilarated. He knelt before me, his eyes locked on mine, and slowly, deliberately, he peeled away my underwear. The cool air on my damp skin was a shock, quickly replaced by the heat of his gaze. I felt utterly bare, utterly vulnerable, and utterly aroused.

He rose, pulling me towards the executive desk, the large, polished surface that had witnessed countless meetings, countless decisions. Now it was just a surface for our desires. He lifted me effortlessly, settling me on the cool wood. The shock of the cold against my bare skin was quickly forgotten as he stood between my legs, his hands on my thighs, pushing them apart. His eyes never left mine as he reached down, guiding his erection to my entrance. I gasped, feeling the blunt head press against me, hot and ready.

“Maya,” he whispered, his voice rough with desire. “I want you so bad.”

“I want you too, Ben,” I whispered back, wrapping my legs around his waist, pulling him closer. He pushed inside me, slowly, filling me completely. It was a stretch, a sharp, aching fullness that made me cry out. I buried my face in his shoulder, gripping his biceps, feeling the hard flex of his muscles. He started to move, a slow, deliberate rhythm that quickly intensified. Each thrust was deep, powerful, driving me against the desk, sending waves of pleasure through my core.

My nails dug into his skin as the climax built, a tight, exquisite knot of sensation. I arched my back, my head falling back, my vision blurring. He watched me, his face a mask of intense pleasure, his own breath coming in ragged gasps. He sped up, his thrusts becoming frantic, urgent, and then, with a guttural cry, he plunged into me one last, deep time, flooding me with his warmth. My body convulsed around him, waves of release washing over me, leaving me breathless and weak.

We stayed there for a long moment, clinging to each other, our bodies slick with sweat, our breathing ragged. The silence of the office enveloped us once more, but now it was a comfortable, contented quiet. Slowly, he pulled out, and I felt a pang of disappointment, even as my body thrummed with the aftershocks of our coupling. He lifted me from the desk, setting me gently on my feet. My legs felt like jelly, and I leaned against him, my head on his chest.

“I should probably get dressed,” I mumbled, my voice still hoarse.

He stroked my hair. “Eventually.” He kissed the top of my head, then pulled back, a soft smile on his face. “That was… unexpected.”

“Unexpected, but not unwelcome?” I teased, looking up at him, a shy smile on my face.

“Definitely not unwelcome,” he said, his eyes crinkling at the corners. He bent down, picking up my clothes, then his own. We dressed in silence, the air still thick with the lingering intimacy. When we were both clothed, the professional facade started to reassert itself, but it was a fragile thing, easily shattered.

“So,” I said, trying to inject a normal tone into my voice, “about those Q3 reports.”

He laughed, a genuine, delighted sound. “Maya. We are not talking about Q3 reports. Not tonight. Not after that.” He reached out, taking my hand, intertwining our fingers. His touch still sent a jolt through me, but now it was mixed with a newfound tenderness.

“What are we talking about then?” I asked, squeezing his hand.

He looked at me, his blue eyes warm and direct. “We’re talking about next time.”

My heart fluttered. Next time. The words hung in the air, a promise, a question. The office would never be just an office again. It would be the place where lines blurred, where desires were unleashed, where two people found something raw and real amidst the spreadsheets and deadlines. I smiled, a slow, knowing smile. “I like the sound of that, Ben. I like the sound of that very much.” We walked out of the office hand in hand, the city lights beckoning, and a whole new chapter beginning.
