Barely Covered

“You’re really going to wear that?” Liam leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, one eyebrow raised. It was more a statement than a question, delivered with that particular blend of amusement and resignation that meant he already knew the answer.

I looked down at my outfit: ripped denim shorts that barely covered anything, a cropped band t-shirt that showed off my midriff, and bright red combat boots. Perfectly appropriate for a casual Friday night at the bar with friends. “What’s wrong with it?” I asked, meeting his eyes with an innocent blink that I knew damn well wasn’t convincing. I loved pushing his buttons, watching that vein throb in his neck. It was a game we played, one I usually won.

He sighed, a long-suffering sound. “It’s… a lot. For a pub. Where you’ll be sitting on sticky benches and probably spilling beer on yourself.”

“Exactly,” I countered, spinning around to check my reflection in the full-length mirror. “It’s already distressed. Adds to the aesthetic.” I winked at him in the mirror, then turned back, walking towards him with a sway I knew he found irritatingly attractive. “Unless you’re worried about other people looking?”

His jaw tightened just a fraction. Bingo. “I’m worried about you being comfortable,” he said, but his voice was a little too gruff. “And maybe a little about you being cold later, because it’s supposed to drop.”

“I’ll be fine,” I said, reaching up to smooth a stray hair from his forehead. My fingers lingered on his skin. “You worry too much.”

He caught my hand, holding it firmly. “I worry just enough. Go change, please. Something a little… less.” He gestured vaguely at my entire person.

I pulled my hand free, stepping back. “No. I like this. And we’re going to be late if we stand here debating my sartorial choices all night.” I grabbed my small crossbody bag from the dresser. “Let’s go.”

He stood his ground, blocking the doorway. “You’re not going out like that.” His voice had lowered, taking on that dangerous edge that meant he was close to losing his patience. This was the point where most people would back down. Most people weren’t me.

“Watch me,” I said, attempting to sidestep him. He shifted, still blocking me. I tried the other way. Blocked again. A slow smile spread across my face. This was getting good.

“Are you trying to pick a fight, Maya?” he asked, his eyes dark. He knew me too well. He knew exactly what I was doing.

“No,” I chirped, batting my eyelashes. “Just expressing my individuality. Something you claim to admire about me.”

He let out a frustrated sound, running a hand through his dark hair. “I admire a lot of things about you, but your ability to be infuriating is currently at the top of the list.”

“Oh, good,” I said, pressing a quick, light kiss to his lips. “So you admit I’m infuriating.” I tried to squeeze past him again, but he caught my waist, pulling me against his solid front. His hands slid around to my lower back, holding me captive.

“Maya,” he warned, his breath warm against my ear. “Don’t push it.”

I squirmed, just a little. “Push what? My right to choose my own clothes?” I giggled, enjoying the tension that was building between us. It was a thrill, this dance we did. Pushing him, just to see how far I could go before he finally snapped. And then, the snap. That was always the best part.

He tightened his grip, his thumbs digging into the sensitive skin just above the waistband of my shorts. “You know what. You know exactly what you’re doing.”

“I don’t know what you mean,” I mumbled, feigning confusion, though my body was already responding to his touch. The pressure of his hands, the heat radiating from him. It always got to me, even when I was trying to be difficult.

“This little game,” he said, his voice a low growl. “You do this every time. You push, and push, and push, until I have to… remind you who’s in charge.”

I looked up at him, my eyes wide. “Are you in charge?” I asked, my voice barely a whisper, just to needle him a little more. The corner of his mouth twitched. He was fighting a smile, fighting his own desire. I loved it.

“Yes, I’m in charge,” he said, his gaze intense. “And you’re about to find out exactly how much.” He didn’t wait for a response. He scooped me up, one arm under my knees, the other around my back. I let out a surprised squeak, my arms automatically going around his neck.

“Hey!” I protested, but there was no real heat behind it. My heart was already pounding, a mix of defiance and anticipation. This was it. The snap.

He carried me through the living room, ignoring my playful struggles. “Where are we going?” I asked, my voice breathy. He didn’t answer, just kept walking, his steps purposeful, towards the bedroom. My bedroom. Our bedroom.

He kicked the door shut behind us with his foot and then, without ceremony, dropped me onto the bed. I bounced once, landing amidst a pile of pillows. Before I could even sit up, he was on top of me, his weight pinning me down. Not crushing, but firm. Dominant. Exactly what I had been craving, even as I fought it.

“You wanted to play, Maya?” he whispered, his face inches from mine. His eyes were dark, filled with a raw hunger that ran down my spine. “Let’s play.”

His mouth came down on mine, hard and demanding. It wasn’t a gentle kiss, but a ravaging one, full of all the frustration and desire he’d been holding back. I met it with equal fervor, my hands immediately tangling in his hair, pulling him closer. My carefully constructed defiance crumbled under the force of his passion, replaced by an overwhelming need to surrender.

He broke the kiss, moving to my neck, biting and sucking, leaving a trail of fire. I arched my back, a moan escaping my lips. “Liam,” I gasped, his name a plea.

“Still think you’re going out in those shorts?” he murmured against my skin, his fingers already fumbling with the button of my denim. He unzipped them with a practiced ease, pulling them down my legs, along with my underwear. My hips lifted instinctively, helping him.

“No,” I whimpered, already breathless. “I’m not.” The shorts were tossed unceremoniously to the floor. My t-shirt was next, lifted over my head before I could even process it. I lay there, exposed, my chest heaving, my nipples already hard and aching.

He paused, propped above me on his elbows, his eyes raking over my body. A slow, possessive smile spread across his face. “Good girl,” he said, the words a balm and a challenge all at once. “Now, what were you saying about being in charge?”

“You are,” I whispered, reaching up to cup his face, my thumbs tracing the sharp line of his jaw. “You always are.” It was the truth. No matter how much I pushed, how much I teased, I always knew, deep down, that he was the one who could tame me. The one who could make me forget everything but him.

He leaned down, kissing my collarbone, then my sternum, then slowly, tantalizingly, he moved towards my breasts. His tongue flicked out, circling one nipple, sending a jolt of pure pleasure through me. I gasped, my fingers digging into his shoulders.

“You know what else you always do, brat?” he asked, his voice rough with desire as he took my nipple into his mouth, sucking hard. “You make me wait.”

I arched into him, my hips instinctively pushing up. “I like to see you squirm,” I confessed, my voice shaky. “It’s hot.”

He pulled away from my breast, looking at me with a smirk. “Oh, it’s hot, is it?” He shifted, his hand moving between my legs, pressing against my already slick core. I whimpered, my legs falling open a little wider in silent invitation. “Well, you’re about to be a whole lot hotter.”

His fingers dipped lower, finding my wetness, teasing at my clitoris. I gasped, my body tensing, every nerve ending alive. He knew exactly what he was doing, how to push me to the brink without quite letting me fall. He kept his rhythm slow, deliberate, building the tension with agonizing precision.

“Please, Liam,” I begged, my voice hoarse. “Please, I can’t…”

“Can’t what, baby?” he murmured, his eyes never leaving mine. “Can’t wait? Or can’t handle it?”

“Both,” I cried, my hips beginning to buck under his hand. “Just… please.”

He leaned down, kissing me again, a deep, bruising kiss that stole my breath. His fingers picked up their pace, moving faster, harder, until I was writhing beneath him, on the verge of something spectacular. Just as I felt the first tremor of release, he pulled his hand away.

I cried out in frustration, my eyes flying open. “Liam! No!”

He chuckled, a low, satisfied sound. “See? Still pushing, even when you’re begging.” He pulled back completely, sitting up on the edge of the bed, leaving me panting and desperate. He started unbuttoning his own shirt, slowly, deliberately, his eyes fixed on me.

“You’re a monster,” I accused, though my body was still aching for him. Every fiber of my being was screaming for his touch. The shirt came off, revealing his muscular chest, dusted with dark hair. He was magnificent, and he knew it. He was enjoying my torment.

“Maybe,” he said, shrugging. “But I’m your monster.” He stood up, shucking off his jeans, his boxers following shortly after. He was hard, thick, and utterly mesmerizing. I couldn’t tear my eyes away.

He climbed back onto the bed, hovering over me again. “Now,” he said, his voice deep and commanding. “Are you going to be a good girl, or do I need to teach you another lesson?”

“Good girl,” I whispered, my voice thick with desire. “I’ll be a good girl.” I reached for him, my fingers brushing against his erection, causing him to groan. I reveled in the power I still held, even in my surrender. The knowledge that I could still affect him so profoundly, even when he was in charge.

He entered me slowly, deliberately, giving me time to adjust, to stretch around him. I gasped, my body clenching around his. It was a perfect fit, a familiar comfort that always felt brand new. He paused, letting me get used to the fullness, his eyes searching mine.

“Too much?” he asked, his voice laced with concern, even as his hips began to rock gently, pushing deeper.

“No,” I breathed, wrapping my legs around his waist, pulling him closer. “Never too much.”

He started moving then, a slow, steady rhythm that built in intensity with each thrust. I met him stroke for stroke, my hands gripping his shoulders, my nails digging into his skin. The bed creaked under our combined weight, the sounds of our bodies slapping together filling the room. It was raw, urgent, and everything I’d been craving.

My mind emptied of everything but the sensations, the feel of his skin against mine, the taste of his mouth as he kissed me again, his tongue battling mine for dominance. The world narrowed to just us, to this bed, to this exquisite pleasure.

He found my spot, that perfect angle that sent shivers through me, and I cried out, my body arching into him, a wave of pure bliss washing over me. He kept pushing, driving me higher and higher, until I was a tangled mess of moans and shudders, on the precipice of oblivion.

“Come for me, Maya,” he commanded, his voice hoarse, his own body trembling with effort. “Let go.”

And I did. I let go completely, dissolving into a million pieces, my body convulsing around his. The climax was intense, a glorious explosion of sensation that left me breathless and weak. He followed moments later, groaning my name as he emptied himself inside me, his body shuddering, then collapsing on top of me, heavy and satiated.

We lay there for a long time, tangled together, our breaths slowly returning to normal. My heart was still racing, a lingering echo of the storm we’d just weathered. His weight was comforting, grounding. I felt utterly spent, completely satisfied.

He shifted, propping himself up on one elbow, looking down at me, a soft smile on his face. “Still want to go to the pub?” he asked, his voice laced with amusement.

I giggled, a weak, tired sound. “Maybe just for a drink. We can get takeout.” I reached up, tracing the line of his lips with my finger. “But only if you promise to carry me there.”

He laughed, a deep, rumbling sound that vibrated through my chest. “You’re impossible, you know that?”

“I know,” I said, leaning up to kiss him softly. “And you love it.”

He sighed, but there was no real exasperation in it. Just affection. “Yeah,” he admitted, pulling me closer, tucking my head under his chin. “Yeah, I do.”

We lay in silence for a few more minutes, the afterglow settling around us like a warm blanket. The idea of getting dressed and going out seemed like an insurmountable task. The pub could wait. Our friends could wait. All I wanted was to stay right here, wrapped in his arms.

“What time is it?” I mumbled, my voice muffled against his chest. I felt like I could sleep for a week.

“Doesn’t matter,” he said, his hand stroking my hair. “We’re not going anywhere.”

“Good,” I said, already drifting off. “Because I’m starving.” The thought of food, even takeout, was almost as appealing as what we’d just done. Almost.

He chuckled again, a soft vibration against my ear. “Always hungry, aren’t you?”

“For everything,” I murmured, a sleepy smile on my face. Especially for him. Especially for this. This push and pull, this constant testing of limits, this delicious surrender. It was our dance, our ritual, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. And tomorrow, I’d probably start it all over again. Maybe with a ridiculously short skirt, just to see what he’d do.
