Stubborn Little Mouth

Brat 14 min read 3611 words

“Are you sure you want to wear that, Liv?” Mark asked, his voice flat, not quite a question. He was standing in the doorway of their bedroom, a clean t-shirt in his hand, watching me. I was hunched over, pulling up a pair of ripped denim shorts that barely covered my ass. The silk camisole I’d chosen for the evening shimmered under the bedside lamp, and I knew, just *knew*, it was going to piss him off. Which, of course, was the whole point.

I didn’t look at him. “What’s wrong with it? It’s cute.” I smoothed the camisole over my breasts, letting my fingers linger. The fabric was so thin, it practically begged for attention. I loved that feeling, the knowledge that I was walking a fine line. It made everything more interesting.

He sighed. It was a familiar sound, a prelude to the lecture. “We’re going to my boss’s barbecue. Not a club.”

“It’s a barbecue, Mark. Not a funeral. Besides,” I finally turned, giving him my best innocent smile, “it’s hot out. I don’t want to sweat through a sundress.” I leaned against the dresser, crossing my arms, subtly pushing my chest out just a little. I could see his eyes flick down, a quick, involuntary movement that told me everything I needed to know. He was already annoyed, but he was also looking. Good.

“Liv, please. Just… put on something else. Something a little more… appropriate.” He walked over, picked up a linen button-down from the bed, and held it out. It was his. Probably the one he wore when he wanted to look ‘casual but professional.’ The very thought made me want to gag.

I batted it away. “No thanks. I like this outfit.” I turned back to the mirror, adjusting a strap on my camisole. I caught his reflection behind me. He was standing there, hands on his hips, jaw tight. He was trying to keep his cool, but I could feel the tension radiating off him. He hated when I did this. He hated feeling like he wasn’t in control, like I was deliberately undermining him.

“Liv,” he said, his voice dropping an octave. This was the ‘warning’ voice. The one that meant he was close to losing patience. Some women might be intimidated. Me? It just made me want to push harder.

“What?” I asked, feigning ignorance. I spun around, my hair flying, and gave him another sweet, wide-eyed look. “Is something wrong, baby?”

He just stared at me, his eyes dark. He knew exactly what I was doing. He always did. That’s what made it so fun. The unspoken challenge, the silent battle of wills. He moved closer, until he was right behind me, his body heat a palpable presence. I could feel his breath on my neck.

“You know exactly what’s wrong,” he murmured, his voice rough. He reached out, his fingers brushing the exposed skin of my back, just above the waistband of my shorts. I shivered, but it wasn’t from cold. It was anticipation.

I leaned back against him, letting my head rest on his shoulder. “I think you’re being dramatic. It’s just clothes.” I could feel his chest rise and fall against my back, a little faster than normal. I smiled to myself. He was getting there.

He didn’t say anything for a moment, just stood there, his hands moving to rest on my hips. He squeezed gently. “We’re going to be late,” he finally said, his voice strained. “Can you just… be good for five minutes?”

I pushed away from him, turning to face him fully. “I’m always good,” I said, poking his chest with my finger. “You just have a very specific definition of ‘good’.” I winked at him. “Maybe I like being a little bad.”

His eyes narrowed. “You like pushing my buttons.”

“Maybe,” I agreed, my smile widening. “It’s fun to see what happens.”

He let out a frustrated sound, running a hand through his hair. “What happens, Liv, is I get annoyed. And then you get… consequences.” He looked at me, a dangerous glint in his eyes. I felt a thrill go through me. This was it. This was what I’d been waiting for.

“Oh? Consequences?” I teased, leaning in, my voice low. “What kind of consequences?”

He didn’t answer right away. He just looked at my mouth, then down at the camisole, then back up to my eyes. “You’ll find out,” he said, his voice barely a whisper. He stepped back, taking a deep breath. “Go change, Liv. Now. Or we’re not going.”

I stood my ground, my arms crossed, a stubborn pout on my face. “I’m not changing.”

He closed his eyes for a beat, then opened them, and I saw a flicker of something new there. Not just annoyance, but determination. He walked over to the dresser, picked up my phone, and put it in his pocket. Then he walked to the door and opened it. “Fine. Stay here, then. I’ll go alone.”

My jaw dropped. He’d never done that before. He’d always argued, pleaded, eventually given in. But walking away? That was a new tactic. A good one, actually. It surprised me. But I wasn’t going to let him see that.

“You wouldn’t,” I said, trying to sound confident. But a tiny sliver of doubt was creeping in. If he left, I’d be stuck here, alone, in an outfit I’d picked just to annoy him. The whole point was for *him* to see it.

He just looked at me, a cold, hard expression on his face. “Try me.”

He waited. I waited. We stared at each other, a quiet standoff. He wasn’t blinking. I could feel my resolve wavering. It wasn’t fun if he wasn’t playing. And if he left, he wasn’t playing anymore. He was winning. And I hated losing.

Finally, I let out a huff of air. “Fine!” I practically yelled. “Fine, I’ll change. But I’m not happy about it.”

A small, almost imperceptible smile played on his lips. “Good girl.” He walked out of the room, leaving the door open. I heard his footsteps recede down the hall. I stared at my reflection, still in the camisole and shorts, feeling a mix of frustration and… something else. A flicker of excitement. He’d pushed back. Harder than usual. And I liked it.

I rummaged through my closet, pulling out a plain white t-shirt and a pair of sensible jeans. I hated them. They were boring. But I put them on, huffing and puffing the whole time. As I was pulling on the jeans, Mark reappeared in the doorway. He leaned against the frame, watching me. He didn’t say anything, just observed. When I finally finished, I glared at him.

“Happy now?” I snapped.

He pushed off the doorframe and walked over, his eyes scanning my outfit. “Much better,” he said, a hint of satisfaction in his voice. He reached out, tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear. His fingers brushed my jaw, sending a small current through me.

“You’re a pain,” I muttered, but I didn’t pull away. I leaned into his touch, my body instinctively responding to his closeness.

“And you’re a brat,” he countered, his eyes twinkling. He leaned in, his lips brushing my ear. “But you’re my brat.” He kissed my cheek, a quick, soft peck, then pulled back. “Let’s go. We’re already late.”

The barbecue was exactly as awful as I’d imagined. His boss, Mr. Henderson, was a loud, back-slapping kind of guy who thought every anecdote needed a dramatic pause and a punchline that wasn’t actually funny. His wife, Brenda, was perfectly coiffed and kept offering me small, suspicious-looking quiches. I spent most of the afternoon trying to avoid eye contact with anyone, while Mark beamed and schmoozed like he was born for this. He kept glancing over at me, a warning in his eyes every time I looked bored or checked my phone.

At one point, Mr. Henderson launched into a particularly long-winded story about a fishing trip. I felt my eyes glazing over. Mark was standing next to me, a hand resting on the small of my back, a subtle reminder of his presence. I felt a sudden, irresistible urge to break the monotony. To do something, anything, to make things less… beige.

I waited for a natural pause, then cleared my throat. “You know,” I said, my voice a little louder than necessary, drawing Mr. Henderson’s attention away from his fish, “Mark told me the other day that his biggest fear is becoming exactly like you.”

The air went silent. Mr. Henderson’s smile faltered. Brenda dropped a quiche. Mark’s hand tightened on my back, a quiet, furious warning. I met his eyes, a triumphant smirk playing on my lips. Gotcha.

“Liv!” Mark hissed, his face a mask of horror. “What are you talking about?”

I just shrugged, feigning innocence again. “Oh, did I say that out loud? My bad.” I gave Mr. Henderson a sweet, apologetic look. “I’m sorry, Mr. Henderson. I just have a very… playful relationship with Mark. We tease each other. He says I’m his biggest fear.” I turned to Mark, still smiling. “Isn’t that right, honey?”

Mark’s face was beet red. He stammered, trying to explain, to smooth things over. Mr. Henderson, to his credit, just laughed it off, albeit a little awkwardly. But the damage was done. The polite, boring atmosphere had been thoroughly disrupted. I felt a surge of satisfaction. Mission accomplished.

On the drive home, the silence in the car was thick enough to cut with a knife. Mark’s hands were gripping the steering wheel so tightly his knuckles were white. I knew he was furious. And I loved it. I loved pushing him, seeing how far I could go before he snapped.

“Are you quite finished with your little performance for the evening?” he finally asked, his voice low and dangerous. He didn’t look at me, his eyes fixed on the road.

“What performance?” I asked, innocent as ever. I leaned my head against the window, watching the streetlights blur past. “I was just being myself.”

He slammed his hand on the steering wheel, a loud thud that made me jump. “Being yourself? Liv, you almost cost me a promotion! My boss thinks I’m a joke because of you!”

I shrugged. “He seemed to laugh it off.”

“He laughed it off because he’s polite, Liv! He’s not actually amused!” He finally glanced at me, his eyes blazing. “What is wrong with you? Why do you always have to do this? Why can’t you just be normal for one night?”

I turned to face him, my expression hardening. “Maybe I don’t want to be ‘normal,’ Mark. Maybe I don’t want to be some Stepford wife who smiles and nods and pretends to care about fishing stories. Maybe I just want to be me.”

He scoffed. “Being ‘you’ involves deliberately embarrassing me in front of my colleagues?”

“It involves not being a boring drone!” I shot back. “You want me to be quiet and docile, but that’s not who I am. You know that. You liked it at first, remember? You said I was ‘refreshing’.”

“There’s a difference between refreshing and actively sabotaging my career, Liv!” He took the exit ramp, the tires squealing slightly. We were almost home.

“Oh, relax,” I said, waving my hand dismissively. “It’s just a job. You’ll get another one.”

He pulled into the driveway, slamming on the brakes a little harder than necessary. He turned off the engine, plunging the car into silence again. Then he turned to me, his eyes holding mine. “That’s it,” he said, his voice quiet, but laced with an intensity that ran down my spine. “I’m done.”

My heart did a little flutter. “Done with what?” I asked, trying to sound nonchalant, but a tremor in my voice betrayed me.

“Done with letting you get away with it,” he said. He reached across the console, his hand gripping my jaw, his thumb stroking my cheekbone. His touch was firm, possessive. “You think this is a game, don’t you? You think you can just say whatever you want, do whatever you want, and there are no consequences.”

I swallowed, suddenly feeling a little nervous. This wasn’t the usual annoyance. This was something deeper. Something… more potent. “It’s not a game,” I whispered, even though I knew, deep down, it absolutely was.

“Yes, it is,” he corrected, his voice a low growl. “And you’ve been winning for too long. But tonight, Liv, you lose.” His thumb moved, pressing into the corner of my mouth. “You have a very stubborn little mouth, don’t you?”

I didn’t answer. I just stared at him, my breath catching in my throat. I could feel the heat of his palm against my skin, the slight rough texture of his thumb. He was so close I could see the tiny flecks of gold in his irises.

“That mouth,” he continued, his voice almost too quiet to hear, “it likes to say things it shouldn’t. It likes to talk back. It likes to push and prod and get under my skin.” He leaned in closer, his lips brushing mine, not quite kissing, just teasing. “Doesn’t it?”

I made a small sound, a whimper, deep in my throat. I could feel myself getting aroused, the sudden, unexpected shift in power a potent aphrodisiac. This was what I craved. This push and pull, this tension, this moment where he finally stopped playing and started taking.

“I think,” he murmured, his lips still hovering inches from mine, “we need to teach that mouth a lesson.”

He didn’t kiss me. Not yet. Instead, he pulled back, just enough to look me in the eyes. “Get inside,” he commanded, his voice firm. “Now.”

I didn’t argue. I didn’t protest. I just nodded, a quiet, almost eager obedience that surprised even myself. He released my jaw, and I fumbled with the car door handle, my hands trembling slightly. I got out, my legs feeling a little weak, and walked towards the house, Mark right behind me.

As soon as I stepped inside, he shut the door with a decisive click. The house was dark, only the faint glow of the streetlights filtering through the windows. He didn’t bother turning on any lights. He just grabbed my arm, his grip firm, and pulled me towards the living room. I stumbled, but he held me steady, not letting me fall.

He pushed me gently onto the sofa, and I landed with a soft thud. Before I could even sit up properly, he was leaning over me, his hands on either side of my head, trapping me. His eyes were dark, almost black in the dim light, and I could feel the heat radiating off his body.

“So,” he said, his voice a low rumble that vibrated through my chest. “You think you’re so clever, don’t you? So good at getting your way.”

I looked up at him, my heart pounding. “I… I didn’t mean to…”

“Oh, you absolutely meant to,” he cut me off, his voice laced with a knowing amusement. “Every single time. You love seeing me get frustrated. You love seeing me lose my temper.” He leaned closer, his nose brushing mine. “Don’t you, Liv?”

I couldn’t deny it. Not now. Not when he was looking at me like that. Not when every fiber of my being was screaming for him to take control. “Yes,” I whispered, my voice almost too quiet to hear.

He smiled then, a slow, predatory smile that made my stomach clench. “Good. Because tonight, you’re going to get exactly what you’ve been asking for.” He lowered his head, his lips finally claiming mine. The kiss was deep, demanding, and utterly thrilling. It was a kiss that told me, without words, that the game was over. He was in charge now.

His hands moved from either side of my head to my waist, pulling me up until I was sitting on his lap, my legs wrapped around his hips. He deepened the kiss, his tongue tangling with mine, exploring every curve and hollow of my mouth. I gasped, a small sound of surrender, and he took advantage, delving deeper, tasting me, claiming me.

I could feel the hardness of him pressing against me, a clear indication of his arousal. It made me squirm, a sharp friction that only intensified the sensation. My hands went to his hair, pulling, clutching, desperate for more. I was lost in the kiss, lost in him.

He finally broke the kiss, pulling back just enough to catch his breath. His eyes were still dark, his chest heaving. “You like to talk back, do you?” he murmured, his voice rough. “Let’s see if you’ll talk back when I’m doing this.”

And then he kissed me again, fiercely, passionately. His hands moved, sliding under my plain white t-shirt, his fingers brushing against the bare skin of my stomach. I arched into his touch, a quiet invitation. He didn’t hesitate. He pulled the t-shirt up, over my head, and tossed it aside. Then he went for the jeans.

“No, wait,” I said, a sudden panic setting in. “The… the jeans. They’re tight.”

He paused, his eyes meeting mine. A slow, mischievous smile spread across his face. “Oh, I know,” he said, his voice a purr. “That’s half the fun, isn’t it? Watching you squirm.” He tugged at the button, his fingers surprisingly gentle, yet firm. I watched, mesmerized, as he unzipped them, then slid his hands inside, pushing them down my hips. I lifted myself slightly, helping him, eager for the release of the restrictive fabric.

The jeans landed on the floor with a soft thud, leaving me in just my underwear. He looked at me, his gaze intense, possessive. “Much better,” he breathed. His fingers traced the elastic of my underwear, making me shiver.

“Mark…” I whimpered, my voice thick with desire. I couldn’t form a coherent thought. All I could think about was him, his touch, the way he was making me feel.

He didn’t say anything. He just leaned in, his lips brushing my ear. “This is your consequence, Liv,” he whispered, his voice a low growl. “Every time you decide to be a little brat, I’m going to remind you exactly who’s in charge.” He bit gently on my earlobe, sending a jolt of pleasure through me.

And then he was everywhere. His hands were on my thighs, pushing them apart. His mouth was on my neck, trailing kisses down to my collarbone. I gasped, my head falling back against the sofa. I was completely at his mercy, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

He moved quickly, efficiently. My underwear was gone in a flash, tossed to the side to join my discarded clothes. Then he was there, between my legs, his fingers finding my wetness, teasing, exploring. I cried out, my body arching into his touch.

“So responsive,” he murmured, his voice husky. “For someone so stubborn.” He leaned down, his tongue flicking out to taste my skin. “Let’s see if you’re still so stubborn when I do this.”

And then his mouth was on me, hot and wet and utterly devastating. I gasped, my body seizing up with pleasure. His tongue worked its magic, teasing, swirling, driving me wild. I gripped his hair, my fingers tangled in the soft strands, pulling, urging him on. I couldn’t hold back the sounds that escaped my lips, desperate moans and whimpers that filled the quiet living room.

He kept going, relentless, determined to break me. And I was breaking. My hips bucked against his face, a desperate plea for more. The pleasure built, an unbearable tension that stretched and tightened until I thought I would shatter.

“Please,” I choked out, my voice raw. “Mark, please.”

He paused, pulling away just for a second, his eyes meeting mine. His face was flushed, his lips wet and glistening. “Please what, Liv?” he asked, his voice low and teasing. “Please stop? Or please keep going?”

“Keep going!” I cried, my voice almost a shriek. “Don’t stop! I can’t… I can’t take it!”

He smiled, a triumphant, satisfied smile. “Good girl,” he said, and then his mouth was back, even more intensely than before. The world dissolved into a haze of sensation, of heat and pressure and pure, unadulterated pleasure. My body convulsed, a wave of ecstasy washing over me, leaving me breathless and trembling.

When it was over, I lay there, gasping for air, my body limp and sated. He pulled himself up, his eyes still dark and intense. He looked at me, a possessive glint in his gaze. He ran a hand through my hair, then traced the curve of my jaw.

“Feel better?” he asked, his voice soft now, almost gentle.

I just nodded, too spent to speak. I reached up, pulling his head down, and kissed him, a soft, lingering kiss that was full of gratitude and surrender.

“Good,” he said, pulling back slightly. “Now, I think it’s time for round two. And this time,” he leaned in, his voice a whisper, “I want to hear you say it. Say you’re sorry for being a brat.”

I looked at him, my eyes wide. Even now, even after all that, he was still pushing. Still demanding. And I knew, deep down, I wouldn’t have it any other way. A small, defiant smile touched my lips.

“Never,” I whispered, and then he was kissing me again, a frustrated groan rumbling in his chest. And I knew, with absolute certainty, that this was far from over.
